Luna Bay Paranormal Investigations

Luna Bay Paranormal InvestigationsDedicated to truth, justice…and finding out what goes bump in the night.

Things aren’t always what they seem. Not everything can be explained. That’s where we come in.

Luna Bay Paranormal Investigations was founded in 2003 by a group of like-minded individuals who understand that the paranormal is normal in Luna Bay. How many times have you seen shadows moving that shouldn’t be there? How many times have you heard footsteps behind you only to turn around and see no one there? You’re not alone…

We’re not alone…

There are things out there, things that defy explanation. Things we have dedicated our lives to understanding.

If something unexplained is happening to you, call us. We’ll come out and investigate at no charge. This isn’t about money. This is about finding out the truth.

Every Saturday and Sunday we offer daytime walking Ghost Tours of Luna Bay. And for those with a higher tolerance for fear, every Friday and Saturday night we explore different areas of Luna Bay, from the beach to downtown and other places in between, searching for the unknown entities sharing our small town. For more information on our tours, please visit the LBPI offices in downtown Luna Bay, or visit our event page.

NOTE: ALL NIGHT TIME TOURS HAVE BEEN CANCELED. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Our daytime tours have not been affected. Most of our private investigations take place at night and have also not been affected.

Meet The Team:

LBPIZane Richards
Founder, Lead Investigator

After a near death experience followed by unexplained activity in his home while in college, Zane became interested in finding out exactly what was going on because these things don’t happen on their own. After getting up the courage to tell his friend, Michael, they learned that they’d had similar experiences. This camaraderie deepened their friendship and made them both eager to learn more.

Luna Bay Paranormal Investigations was born out of a desire to study, to learn more and most of all to help others come to an understanding about their physical world. Sometimes, the answers are simple, sometimes not. But he’s here to help, to learn, to grow. Everyone gets scared now and then. Zane wants to make sure no one has to stay scared.

LBPIMichael Layton
Founder, Tech Director

Michael came to Zane Richards almost by chance. His career in the military was in full swing when his foot was injured in the line of duty. Due to his extensive training in computers and electronic engineering, he fell into an IT position at UC Santa Carla where he meet Zane. One day, during a particular server meltdown, he and Zane shared ghost stories. From there, they joined forces to start Luna Bay Paranormal Investigations to learn more about the paranormal and help those who may need their unique assistance.

LBPIRobert Metsinglied
Researcher and Investigator

Retired from the Luna Bay Sheriff Department office staff, Robert Metsinglied now divides his time between Luna Bay Paranormal Investigations and freelance writing. This is the third paranormal group he has been a part of over the years–his interest in the supernatural began when he was fifteen.

His keen sense of direction and sharp intuition guide him and other members well during investigations. He also leads tours throughout Luna Bay and volunteers at the Monarch Grove when he is not researching cases for Luna Bay Paranormal Investigations.

LBPIJessica Perloff
Case Manager, Investigator

Dividing her time between the California Coastal Missing Persons Foundation and Luna Bay Paranormal Investigations, Jessica is our natural choice for a Case Manager. Her organizational skills are phenomenal as is her know-how when doing investigations.

Growing up in a haunted house, she understands what clients are experiencing and wants to help. The sooner LBPI can get into the location, the sooner the owners can be helped. She organizes the team and coordinates the investigations so that they happen without any snags. Jessica also interviews those who have experienced paranormal activity and wants to understand what is causing it. She is here to help and bring a smile to everyday operations and is also one of our most enthusiastic tour guides.

Claire Bridges
Investigator

Currently majoring in Quantum Physics at UC Santa Carla, Claire is most interested in quantum phenomenon. Approaching each investigation from a purely scientific standpoint, she brings groundedness to the group. Her lack of fear in otherwise exciting situations makes her one of our most valued members when dealing with unpleasant, malicious activity. Our clearest, class A EVPs have mostly been while a voice recorder was in Claire’s hand. She is also a sensitive, but does not rely on that information alone when investigating.

Raoul Perez
Investigator

By day, he mans the counter at The Heavenly Bible Store here in Luna Bay. A native of San Francisco, he moved to Luna Bay two years ago to enjoy the surf and the more laid back life. What he found here was indeed great surf, but also that the things that go bump in the night that he’s heard since he was a kid aren’t just his little brother playing tricks on him. He brings positive spirit to Luna Bay Paranormal Investigations and somehow manages to keep all of the cables in very neat, untangled order. He’s our miracle worker.

Cameron Meyers
Investigator, Photographic Specialist

Owner of Cameron’s Cameras here in Luna Bay, he knows film and cameras. Period. Whenever we capture what we think is photographic evidence of paranormal activity, we run it by Cameron. No orb fakes its way past his scrutiny. No stray plume of incense smoke, hair or camera strap gets claimed as paranormal. When he investigates with us, his evidence is always incredible. He has been interested in the paranormal since he was five–his first ghost picture happened when he was seven! Cameron enjoys photographing the world, paranormal or not.

LBPIEdgar Frog
Associate Member, Demonologist

Born in Santa Carla and relocating to the outskirts of Luna Bay, Edgar Frog is our most vigilant member. He does not usually investigate cases with us unless there is suspected demon activity. He is properly equipped to deal with undead, neverdead as well as human threats. He has been in this field since his early teens and understands what is required in the face of danger. This is a calling, not a profession.

When he isn’t assisting those in need, he shapes some of the best surfboards ever to be ridden. His brand of skill is very hard to come by. He also develops technology to assist in investigations and his other work.

Julie is missing. Have you seen her?Julie Wendtz
Investigator, Tour Guide, INACTIVE

If you have seen Julie, please contact ccmpf.org immediately. While giving a night time tour of downtown, she gestured toward a building such that her group could view it. When they turned around, she was nowhere to be found. Only her flashlight and the scent of her perfume remained.

We fear something bad may have happened as she would never leave a tour unattended–especially one she planned and wrote herself. Julie is very sorely missed by Luna Bay Paranormal Investigations. Her ability to navigate in the dark was incredible and she was never afraid even when spirits came in contact with her. Again, if you know of her whereabouts, please notify the California Coastal Missing Persons Foundation.

Dr. William Touter is missing. Have you seen him?Dr. William Touter
Researcher, Honorary Member, INACTIVE

When Dr. William Touter contacted us regarding the book he was writing, we were absolutely ecstatic. His book was a collection of ghost stories with both scientific and spiritual explanations for each case. William’s goal was to use our experiences in his book and ride along on some investigations.

After four successful cases, he wanted to do follow-up interviews with each of us. He had scheduled Zane in the morning, but did not show up and hasn’t been seen since. All attempts at contacting him have failed. If you have seen Dr. Touter, please inform the California Coastal Missing Persons Foundation (ccmpf.org). We miss him terribly.
